Katniss Everdeen vs. Jo March

Little Women, Hunger Games, Jo’s boys, Catching Fire, Little Men, and Mockingjay… bookworm paradise! Katniss Everdeen tries to survive the gruesome Hunger Games. On the other hand, Jo March is having some situations as well along with the other Little Women. I am going to compare and contrast the similarities and differences between Katniss Everdeen (Hunger Games Trilogy) and Jo March (Little Women.)

When you first think of Jo and Katniss you think they from opposite sides of the world, but don’t be fooled. Katniss and Jo are very much a like in more ways than one. Throughout their stories they are both true to themselves, even if they sometimes they do struggle to be true. Katniss is always asking herself who she really fighting for in her stories, but then suddenly realizes that it is her own self she is fighting for. Jo does the same except in a different way; she always writes the way she wants to. She does what she desires, even if other people don’t believe in her. Another thing they have in common is their love for their family. Katniss is always constantly thinking of her sister, Primrose, and her best friends, Gale and Peeta. Jo March is always with her family and friends especially her sisters, the little women, Meg, Amy, and Beth. One more thing they both share is their bravery and their courage.  Katniss shows a lot of courage throughout Hunger Games; she was almost murdered in an arena, snuck into the forbidden woods, and started a rebellion. Jo may have not done anything like that, but she did think bravely. Most girls would stress on how they look or what dress they wear including her two sisters, Meg and Amy. Jo never tried to pretend who she was.

Even though Jo March and Katniss Everdeen have an abundance of similarities they have a many differences. Katniss and Jo are from a whole different time period. Katniss is from a more futuristic time period in District 12. Jo on the other hand is from the historical town of Concord Massachusetts from the time period from the 1700-1800s. Something else that makes them both unique from each other is they have very different problems. Katniss is trying to defeat the Capitol of Panem, while Jo is dealing with more realistic problems with family problems. The final thing they don’t relate with is their personality. Jo March is amazingly bold and bright; she doesn’t care if she falls, she will get right back up, even if it takes a couple of tries. Katniss is often trying to figure out who she really is, though she is has at the end of the trilogy.

Now you can see Katniss and Jo are similar in many ways, yet still different in others. I think my favorite character would be Jo March, because she is more realistic in many ways. I also love Katniss for her courageousness she shows in the Hunger Games.

The Mother-Daughter Book Club Series

Don't you love these book marks! Made by a MDBC fan. I know I haven't uploaded anything in like two or three weeks but this is how I will make it up to you.

Mother-Daughter Book Club
Found on heathervogelfrederick.com
It is my turn to ask you what your favorite part of the whole series is? What girl is your favorite and why? What is your favorite book in the series? Who do you think Cassidy Sloane should be with? What classics have you read from the book club? Etc. Really Just say anything you want on MDBC!

My Favs
I love the part in Pies & Prejudice where Stewart finally gets the courage to kiss Emma.
No surprise here, Emma Jane Hawthorne!
Favorite book in the series is Wish You Were Eyre.
I like Cassidy with no one just plain old Cassidy Ann Sloane.
MDBC inspired me to read Little Women and Daddy Long Legs.
Who I am most like?
I am probably more like Emma since I love, love to read and write! I have dark glasses and curly brown hair. I have a Labrador and a kitten, too. I kind of am like Jess because I love animals and I am a good student (I think ;) Jk) Maybe Cass since I'm so awkwardly tall (5"11 and I am 11!) and I hate make-up dresses, skirts, high heals, and etc. In a way I am kind of like Megan, too. As you can see I love neon, bright colors and like vintage. I also have to bitterly say I am kind of like Becca Chadwick, because I have to admit I can try to be a queen bee sometimes. Not like a bully or anything, no way I just like to boss sometimes or correct people. I hate teasing and violence.
Part that I Hate
I hate the part when Stewart and Emma and arguing about him falling over Sophie and he said he totally didn't like her, and then to close the horrible conversation ," Maybe this isn't the best time to say this, but you know how you and I say that dances are lame and everything. I was wondering of taking both of you" OK maybe not exact words from the book but I'm going by memory.

Your turn

Thursday, October 25, 2012

Hey guys! I know a lot of you probably heard of this special book. I know because the majority of viewers who go on this sight are on the Mrs. Frederick's blog and on FanFiction. I know kind of am a couple of days late welcoming this story into The Mother-Daughter Book Club Series but here it is. Not so bright, huh. Well not to worry. I am really soon going finish this book maybe tonight I just have to read the last chapter and maybe tommorow I will post a review on the book. The reason I say maybe is because I don't know whats gonna happen. I have been through a lot all week. I went with my orchestra to see the Pheonix Symphony, homework (advanced classes), family problems, WYWE, I really wanted to get Taylor Swifts new album, I think I'm getting a cold, and I have subs for school tommorow. This weekend I'm totally booked. I have to go to my friend's Halloween Party and have to celebrate my big sis 20th birthday on Saturday (if she bothers to show up this year (long story)) maybe Sunday if she decides to spend another day at California. Then there is the devil. My little sister, Alyssa to be exact she has been bugging me like crazy. Not to mention Halloween. Gosh I ramble a lot. There should be a link below to a fanforum that talks about Wish You Were Eyre below
